After a childhood spent in Singapore (the district of Bukit Timah) and Johannesburg (the district of Sandton), the Republic of South Africa, thanks to her diplomat and commodity trader Grandfather, and a youth spent in New York City (the district of Manhattan Beach) and Poland (Warsaw, the district of Śródmieście, downtown), Agnes Janich decides to make Genève, Switzerland one of her permanent homes.
